I’m honored to have nine poems posted at the premiere cowboy poetry website, cowboypoetry.com. Here’s the link to my page:

My poems (Growing Girls, Born To This Land, The Life of a Hand, Bleached Bones, Grand-Dad's Moonlit Ride, and Pilgrims Both) were inspired by the “Art Spur”, an every-so-often challenge at cowboypoetry.com. A cowboy-themed painting, drawing or photograph is posted at the website to “spur” poems in response. I’ve had a lot of fun doing this and there is plenty of guidance at the website as to what they are looking for and how to submit your work. The “Art Spur” is a great way to tune up the lyricism in your writing, as well as a terrific brain tease for finding strong, viable rhymes. I encourage all interested poets to check it out at http://www.cowboypoetry.com/artspur/htm.
I’ve also been honored
by Cowboys & Indians Magazine,
a publication that selected my poem “The Further Life of Cowboy Jack” as their
“Poem of the Week” for the second week of May, 2011. Here’s the link:
